01 — The short versionThree essential cookies. Nothing else without your say-so.
This website sets three cookies to work at all, and nothing further unless you agree on the banner. If you press Reject All, no analytics or marketing cookie is written, and every page keeps working exactly as it did.
A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to keep, so that the site can recognise the same browser next time. Ours are listed below in full — the whole list, not a representative sample.
02 — Essential
Always on, because the site does not work without them

These three carry no identifier that says who you are, are not read by anybody outside this site, and cannot be turned off — a website that could not remember your age check would have to show it to you constantly.
03 — Analytics
Only if you tick it
If you accept analytics, we record which pages are read, in what order, for how long, and what kind of device. It tells us that the rooms page is read far more often than this one, and that half of you arrive on a phone — which is why the room sizes are near the top.
It is aggregate. It is not linked to your name, your booking or your email address. IP addresses are truncated before storage. Nothing is sold, and nothing goes to an advertising network from this category.
04 — Marketing
Only if you tick that too
If you accept marketing cookies, we can tell that an advertisement led you here — that someone who saw us in a Nelson travel listing went on to book. It is how we work out which advertising is worth paying for.
If you leave this unticked, we simply do not know, and we would rather not know than take it without asking. No marketing cookie is written until you tick the box and press save.
05 — Changing your mind
Withdrawing consent, and browser controls
Clear the cookies for mooringplace.com in your browser settings and reload any page: the banner reappears and your choice starts again. Nothing is remembered from before.
Every major browser can block cookies wholesale or per-site, and can be set to clear them each time it closes. Blocking everything means this site will ask about your age on each page load — an inconvenience we cannot avoid, since the answer has nowhere to live.
We do not use browser fingerprinting, local storage tracking, or third-party pixels of any kind. There is no advertising script on this site.
