Six packages, plainly described
These are hotel packages: nights, breakfasts, dinners, treatments, a shuttle. Each one says what is in it and what it costs, and the terms are three lines long rather than three pages.
Prices are per room, per stay, GST included, and assume two people. They are the low-season figures — June to September, Sunday to Thursday. Ring +64 3 546 8824 and we will price your actual dates rather than make you guess.
02 — The packages
Pick the one that matches the trip
Two Nights on the Quay
The standing offer, and the one most people take. Two nights in a Harbour Room facing the moorings, with breakfast and enough dining credit to cover a decent dinner for two.
- Two nights, Harbour Room, 28 m², west-facing
- Breakfast for two, both mornings, in Boulder Bank Kitchen
- NZ$50 dining credit, usable at the restaurant or The Chart Room
- Late checkout at 1pm
From NZ$586 for the two nights
Sunday to Thursday, June to September. Credit is per stay and does not carry over.
The Long Weekend
Three nights, which is the point at which people stop checking their email. One treatment each at Tasman Bathhouse and a checkout late enough to use the morning.
- Three nights, Bank Room, 33 m², corner windows
- Breakfast for two, all three mornings
- One 60-minute treatment each at Tasman Bathhouse
- Late checkout at 2pm, guaranteed rather than hoped for
From NZ$1,024 for the three nights
Treatments booked when you book the room — there are three rooms and they fill.
Table & Tasting
One night, dinner, and an hour with somebody who knows the Moutere from the Waimea and can tell you why it matters in the glass.
- One night, Harbour Room
- Three courses for two in Boulder Bank Kitchen
- A flight of six Nelson and Tasman wines in The Chart Room, poured and explained
- Breakfast the following morning
From NZ$489 for the night
Tastings run Thursday to Saturday at 5pm. Not available on Mondays.
Stay & Play
For guests who would like an evening in the The Compass Room as part of the stay. Two nights, breakfast, and a gaming credit collected inside the room on ID.
- Two nights, Bank Room, 33 m²
- Breakfast for two, both mornings
- NZ$40 complimentary gaming credit for the The Compass Room
- Reserved seating at The Chart Room before dinner
From NZ$712 for the two nights
Guests aged 20 and over only; photo ID is checked at the door of the gaming lounge. Credit is not exchangeable for cash. If you would rather not have it, take Two Nights on the Quay instead — it is cheaper.
Winter on the Water
June, July and August, when Tasman Bay is flat and grey and the town belongs to the people who live in it. Two nights at the usual rate and a third at half.
- Two nights in any category, third night at half price
- Breakfast for two, every morning
- Free use of Tasman Bathhouse outside the 7 to 9am guest hours
- A pot of soup and bread sent up on the first evening, because it is winter
From NZ$603 for three nights, Quay Room
1 June to 31 August. The three nights must be consecutive.
The Abel Tasman Two-Day
For people who came here to walk. We put you on the road at seven, book the water taxi, and hold dinner for whenever the boat gets back in.
- Two nights, Harbour Room
- Breakfast both mornings — the first one from 6:30, packed if you prefer
- Return shuttle to Mārahau, an hour and ten each way
- Water taxi booked for you; the fare is yours, the arranging is ours
- A dinner table held until 9pm on the walking day
From NZ$654 for the two nights
October to April. We move it without charge if the forecast turns — that is not a favour, it is sense.
03 — Terms
The short version
Package rates are per room, GST included, payable in full at booking. Change or cancel free until seven days before arrival; inside seven days the first night is retained. Packages are subject to a room being free in the stated category and do not run between 24 and 31 December. They cannot be combined with each other or with a corporate rate. Where a package includes credit — dining or gaming — that credit is per stay, is not exchangeable for cash, and expires when you check out.
Anything involving the The Compass Room is for guests aged 20 and over, and photo ID is checked at the door on every visit. The full terms are on the terms and conditions page, and our host responsibility policy sets out how the gaming lounge is run.
